Cookies: they come in assorted flavors baked on Kauai. You will find them around the island. One local baker is Kauai Kookies.
Haupia: this is a delicious coconut pudding, sure to tantalize you.
Kalua Pig: finely cooked pork in an imu which is an underground oven. The pork is wrapped in ti leaves and smoked.
Laulau: local fish and pork that is wrapped in taro and ti leaves
Loco Moco: this is an island favorite. Hamburger patty that is server with gravy and topped with eggs
Lomilomi Salmon: the finest raw, salted salmon combined with diced tomatoes and Maui onions
Malasada: Portuguese donut without a hole in the middle that is rolled in sugar
Manapua: a soft bun that is filled with meat that is steamed or baked
Mochi: Japanese rice cake made of glutinous rice, a lot of time they are wrapped around ice cream
Plate Lunch: consists of two scoops of white rice, one scoop of fresh macaroni salad and one main entree
Poi: delicious mashed taro root
Poke: seasonal raw fish salad
PuPu: an Island appetizer
Saimin: noodle soup with meats, vegetables and dumplings
SPAM musubi: salted rice block under a slice of meat, wrapped with nori seaweed
