Aloha! Welcome to our new blog about Kaua’i

Aloha!  Welcome to our new blog about the Garden Island of Kaua’i, a truly tropical delight.

We will be bringing you news about where to go and what to do and where to eat and much more to make your vacation on Kaua’i truly memorable.

First things first — why  Kaua’i Kolea?  Kolea is the name for the golden plover, a tiny bird that flies 2500 miles or so — nonstop,  of course — to summer in Alaska and then 2500 miles or so — also nonstop — to spend the rest of the year in Hawai’i.

We hope that you will fly nonstop from wherever you are to Kaua’i any time of year!  Unlike the kolea, you will not need to sleep on a sandy beach.  Check out our units available for rental.  These units are right on the sandy beach (so you can pretend you are a kolea) and we are running special rates.

We are ocean-front unit 250 and ocean-view unit 361.  Both of our units are highly upgraded with 620-count cotton sheets, thick spa-quality towels, organic shampoo and soap, and new entertainment amenities, such as iPod ports.  Free WiFi, too, and a welcome basket on arrival.  No resort fees or amenity fees (Aston customers pay amenity fee starting June 1, 2011 of $10/day).  Free parking! We are running special prices right now.

Check us out at

Mahalo for reading our first blog post!  We will be back with lots of photos and ideas and recipes and much much more!
