A Morning at Barking Sands

Recently, we had the opportunity to spend a few hours in the morning at Barking Sands.  Some surfers could be seen at a distance to the right and to the left of us and another person was a half a football field away.  We were alone…almost. What kept us company:

  • Whales out in the channel performing full breaching (ie, jumping right out of the water) and spouting away
  • Waves with colors of deep blue, light blue, turquoise, and white
  • Acres of white sand
  • Shells and stones polished to high gloss in  lines across the sand
  • Puka shells for the picking
  • Birds singing in the trees
  • Na Pali coast and cliffs

Not a bad way to spend a few hours…..

Our condos are located on the east side of Kaua’i, with easy access to the west, south, and north of this small island, and the drive to the west side is lovely and usually low traffic.  You can stop in Hanapepe for food, coffee, shopping, and a visit to Banana Patch Studios.  Glass Beach is another optional stop to or from Barking Sands, too.

So much to see and do on Kaua’i!  Come stay with us for affordable luxury and the Vacation of a Life Time Every Time!

Wishing you warm Aloha.
