Lunch at Gaylord’s Restaurant on Kaua’i

Everyone knows of Gaylord’s for its traditional lua’u.  Not everyone knows that Gaylord’s Restaurant is set on the grounds of the legendary Kilohana Plantation and that the area for the lua’u is just one small part of the estate.

Guests can wander through the plantation house and examine the furnishings and photos of life “back when”.  The plantation house also has some very lovely shops that sell “Kauai Made” products.  The grounds with fruit trees and native and imported flora can be explored, too.  Another not-to-be-missed experience is the train tour through the plantation — with a stop to feed the friendly wild pigs, sheep, and goats.  Be sure to say “Aloha” to April, the plantation house cat who likes to sit on the stairway into the house and catch some sunshine rays.

But what about lunch? The lunch menu is extensive and varied.  How about a pickled beet salad with a leek tart?

Looks yummy — and it was!  No wonder Sunset Magazine named Gaylord’s as one of the top restaurants on Kaua’i.

Gaylord’s is located in Lihue, very close to our affordable luxury condos.  Actually, our condos are centrally located on the island and our guests always comment on how easy it is to visit many landmarks, beaches, tours, and restaurants from our location.

Come, stay with Hula Now!  Some choice weeks in summer are still available ( or 1 855 HULA NOW).  You will not be disappointed in our condos, or lunch at Gaylord’s.

Wishing you warm Aloha!
