Summer Splendor: Delight in Unhurried Days at Your Kauai Vacation Home

sun

Summer afternoon. Summer afternoon.  To me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language — Henry James

Summer afternoons are beautiful on Kauai; the entire day is beautiful on Kauai from watching a glorious sunrise from your lanai; delighting in adventures of hiking or surfing or snorkeling; relaxing poolside or on a secluded beach; and saying goodnight to the sun as it sets over Kong Mountain.

Summer is in full swing, with about 60 days officially left to come stay at your Kauai vacation rental home.  More than enough time to savor a slow-paced, unhurried vacation of a life time with Hula Now.  Kauai vacation rentals with Hula Now include rooms with 2 full beds, queen beds, and king beds; oceanfront, ocean view, and garden/resort view rooms; and some units have full kitchens.  You can book at any time directly on the Hula Now website: www.hulanow.com.

While Henry James may have enjoyed summer tea with scones and strawberries, a 1950-era cookbook yielded this summer treat, perfect for enjoying on your lanai as you  blissfully watch the waves.  Appropriately for Kauai, the recipe is called “Flip-Flop”!

We hope to see you soon at your Kauai vacation rental!

Wishing you warm Aloha!

FLIP-FLOP

In a tall glass, place 1 scoop of orange sherbet, 1 t jam of any flavor (we are partial to lioloka, which is passion fruit), then 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream (Lappert’s is a Kauai favorite).  Repeat until glass is 3/4 full.  Fill glass with chilled ginger ale.  Eat with joy and a spoon.
